CASE STUDY: How Website Monitoring Saved an Online Auto Parts Retailer

PROBLEM: Customers complain about the site off the site and slow response times. Hosting company claims that the problem had been resolved. Customers remaining dissatisfied.

METHODOLOGY: External website monitoring on a page-by-page basis at one-minute intervals pointing problem.

SOLUTION: Realigning shared hosting, improved database indexing, DNS server to upgrade, change the web host’s BGP configuration and regular monitoring of Web sites.

THE STORY:
Once seen as an alternative marketing channel, online shopping has carved his own niche in the market. Online shopping sector has grown rapidly, exceeding other sectors and opening new business prospects. The factors that contribute to sustainable growth of online shopping product range covers a wider, convenience, lower prices, and availability of clear product information. Recently, a large investment in e-commerce by companies large and small have more energy sector and strengthen the roots.

This growth does not come easy. Although most shopping sites feel that they have freed themselves from the pain kept growing, a few remain. Recently Andersen Consulting Services survey reveals that more than 25 percent of the online shopping experience failed during the holiday season because of off site. Another survey by the NDP Group revealed that up to 23 percent of online shoppers while still having the website out, late delivery, and customer service issues.
